Fever Select Iowa Superstar With First Pick

NEW YORK (April 15, 2024) - Two-time Naismith College Player of the Year Caitlin Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday night. The 6-foot-1 guard will join last year's Rookie of the Year, Aliyah Boston, in the Fever's backcourt.

Clark, who led Iowa to the national championship game in each of the last two seasons, is one of the most decorated players in college basketball history. She was named the AP Player of the Year in both 2023 and 2024 and was also the USBWA National Player of the Year in 2024.

The Fever are hoping that Clark can help them return to the playoffs after missing out last season. Indiana finished with a 15-19 record in 2023, but they have a young core of players that they believe can compete for a championship.
