Police conduct surprise checks at Coimbatore Railway Junction, confiscate 4 kg ganja

Coimbatore Police seized 4 kg of ganja from two persons during a surprise check at the Coimbatore Railway Junction on Monday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Vignesh, 24, of Madurai, and Suresh, 25, of Theni.

According to the police, the duo arrived at the railway station on the Cheran Express from Madurai around 7 am.

Based on a tip-off, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted a surprise check on the train.

During the search, the police found 4 kg of ganja concealed in the duo's luggage.

The arrested persons were taken to the GRP police station for further investigation.

The police said that the duo had planned to sell the ganja in Coimbatore.

Further investigation is underway.
