Alien Encounter at Walt Disney World
A Short-Lived Attraction
WEB ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter was a popular attraction at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom from 1995 to 2003. The attraction was a dark ride that took guests on a journey through a spaceship that had been taken over by aliens. Guests would encounter several different types of aliens, including the friendly Stitch, and would eventually be taken to a room where they would be "experimented" on.
A Controversial Attraction
Alien Encounter was a controversial attraction from the start. Some guests found it to be too intense and scary, while others enjoyed the thrill of being chased by aliens. The attraction was also criticized for its use of restraints, which some guests felt were too tight.
Despite the controversy, Alien Encounter was a popular attraction for many years. However, attendance began to decline in the early 2000s, and the attraction was eventually closed in 2003. The space that Alien Encounter occupied is now home to the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor attraction.
